Why Black History Needs to Be Remembered More Than Just One Month of The Year

A few weeks ago, I sat down with my aunt over Skype and we talked about race, black history, what it’s like growing up black, whether or not couples should have inter-racial adoptions, and much, much more!

I shared the full interview with my blog members, but wanted to give you all a taste of what we discussed as well. If you’d like to see the interview in it’s entirety, check it out here. Otherwise, enjoy the video below.

I’d love to hear your thoughts as you process the interview for yourself. Discussions on race are always complex and tend to get quite emotional. I would appeal to everyone, as we discuss, to remember that verbalizing our thoughts about another race is going to leave an emotional impact on people of that race. Please allow that reality to temper the tone of what you say.
