Continuing down last weeks’ train of thought, I enjoyed this post by Preston Sprinkle, again, discussing whether or not same-sex marriage is a primary or secondary theological issue. I’ll give you a clue: he doesn’t altogether answer it in this post. More is coming. But I enjoy reading Sprinkle because he speaks “my language.” He puts the wrestling I feel into words and, even more, leads us into a Biblical, Christ exalting frame of mind with which to evaluate controversial topics such as this.

A New Poll Shows That Most White Evangelicals Hold Negative Views of Muslim Americans

Down another train of thought, although maybe not any less controversial, there were a few things in this article that caught my attention. Primarily, that more white evangelicals (than Muslim Americans) think it is okay to target and kill civilians in order to further a social or religious cause. In other words, white evangelicals are afraid of Muslims in America because they think they’ll kill everyone, when maybe it’s actually American Muslims that should be afraid of white evangelicals..?

  • This week has been busy with nailing down a house (pun intended). We signed a lease today, praise the Lord, and begin moving in tomorrow! Thank you for your prayers! The manager that submitted our application to the corporate office (in LA, most apartments are managed by corporations) said it’s a miracle they let us in. They wanted proof of net income three times what the rental price is, but that’s pretty hard to do when the rental price is more than your total monthly budget has been the last three years! Praise God they let us in! We were able to give a few months rent upfront. That, along with a manager that vouched for our character (and perhaps more that God gave peace of mind to the one in charge), worked to get us into an apartment. After eight and a half weeks of being without a home, we are finally touching down for landing!
  • Also, this week I’ve been re-sharing to social media various posts dealing with romantic relationships. The most-read post of the week was I Asked Her Out and She Said “No!”
  • One more thing, if you are on social media and want to connect, you may do so through Facebook or Twitter.
