Many of you have said that I put into words what you’re feeling. That this blog is a place where someone is not afraid to talk about the deep, unspoken questions you wrestle with.

I praise God that I can be apart of his work in this way and I hope and pray that through writing many may come to know Him at a deeper, more meaningful level.

What I Do Offline

One thing you may not be aware of, though, is what I do offline. When I’m not writing.

I’m a teacher, and I love it!

I never expected to be a teacher. I hated school! But I loved young people and wanted to work with them. In being involved in ministry in Los Angeles, I soon realized that if I wanted to work with young people, I needed to be a part of their life at school. That’s when I first thought of the crazy idea of teaching. (God works wonders!)

Soon after my wife and I were married, we were offered a teaching job in Thailand at a small international school. I took it as a way of getting into the field of teaching (we weren’t necessarily ready to begin college).

There are three things I’ve come to love about teaching.

  1. First of all, there’s no greater time of life to influence people for Christ. Why do you think evil empires gain control through schools? Because the generation that is in their early years of school are easily moldable and influenced. We should be active as Christians to influence them for Christ.
  2. Secondly, I love teaching because I get to spend all day with people. And I love people.
  3. Thirdly, at every age there is new level of potential, whether academically or spiritually. I love seeing my students realize that new level of potential and helping them gain confidence in the gifting’s (and perhaps calling) God has given them.

I am currently in the middle of a three-year commitment Victory Christian School (VCS) here in Thailand. We provide a Christian education at an affordable price for missionary families and even a few other families from other countries.

A growing vision God has laid on my heart is to start a school in an intercity that has little to no knowledge of God being taught in it. Whether here in Thailand or back in America, there is less and less of the knowledge of God and fear of Him being taught in school. No wonder cultures go the way they do.

What might happen to a society if Christians got serious about providing quality education for families who want to give their children a good future, and then used that platform to share the Gospel? I believe we could see revival.

That’s why I love teaching.

How You Can Get Exclusive Content

And I love writing.

If you have benefited from this blog and would like to see it continue, I invite you to become a Patron (financial supporter). When you become a Patron, you agree to give me a monthly tip of whatever amount you choose as a way of helping me regularly create content. As an expression of my gratitude, I would like to offer you occasional gifts, deals, and freebies. To begin with, all patrons who provide at least $5 a month will receive a free PDF download of every post I publish. With it you can save to read later or print off and share with friends. Depending on the amount you give each month, you will receive all my books and eBooks absolutely free.

Because we are asked to raise 100% of our support as teachers at VCS, one of the ways I am working to provide for my family is through writing (blogging, ebooks, etc). It really doesn’t matter how much you give, $5 goes a long way (That’s just $60 a year!!). If you want to be sure and not spend any more than $60, you can set maximum limits as well.

If you’re interested in becoming a Patron or other ways you can help with the work financially, check out my donations page here.

My desire is to serve you. If you have been served, and want to be apart of the work God is doing on this blog, or in Thailand, consider becoming a monthly Patron.

I love you guys! I appreciate everyone of you and whether or not you support me doesn’t change that. You guys are awesome!

God bless!
